Antiphon: A series of appropriation and inspiration, Part 3 Antiphon is a series that juxtaposes steampunk artifacts and ensembles created by the Good Ship Sappho with the photographs that inspired them. Here we find a comparison shot of a bionic steampunk from otakon 2011 and Captain Kieran’s mechanical arm (version 1.0). We looked over several steampunk arm designs before constructing the Captain’s arm, but we were especially impressed by this style, which includes a series of overlapping plates over the shoulder.
